Sunjay Kapur’s Passing Sparks Renewed Interest in Priya Sachdev Interview on Blended Family, Karisma Kapoor Past.

Industrialist Sunjay Kapur passed away earlier this month after suffering a fatal heart attack during a polo match at Guards Polo Club in Windsor, England. In the wake of his untimely demise, an old interview featuring his wife Priya Sachdev has resurfaced online, garnering renewed attention.

In the interview, Priya reflected on her relationship with Sunjay and how their family evolved into a “blended” unit, referring to his children from previous marriages. Without naming anyone, she mentioned, “Sunjay’s previous marriage was not a conventional marriage. He had two beautiful children from that marriage. We love them dearly, and today we are one beautiful blended family.”

Sunjay was previously married to actress Karisma Kapoor. The couple wed in 2002 and had two children before separating. Their divorce was finalized in 2016 after a prolonged legal battle that made headlines due to allegations from both sides—Karisma accused Sunjay of domestic abuse, while Sunjay claimed the marriage was financially motivated.

Karisma’s father, veteran actor Randhir Kapoor, publicly criticized the union, calling Sunjay “a third-class man” in a 2016 interview. “We are Kapoors. We don’t need to run after anyone’s money… I never wanted Karisma marrying him,” he said.

Since her divorce, Karisma Kapoor has kept her personal life largely private. In 2022, during an AMA session on Instagram, when asked whether she would consider marrying again, she responded with a humorous GIF that said “Depends,” sparking curiosity among fans but offering no definitive answer.

Priya and Sunjay married in 2017. Together, they were often seen at events and shared moments from their family life on social media, portraying a close-knit blended family dynamic.
