Aamir Khan Says Girlfriend Gauri Spratt Met a ‘Healed, Better’ Version of Him Post Therapy.
Aamir Khan, who turned 60 earlier this year, introduced his girlfriend Gauri Spratt to the public during a media interaction held around his birthday. In a recent interview with Filmfare, the actor opened up about how therapy has transformed his personal life and positively impacted his new relationship.
“Gauri is meeting a different Aamir now — a more healed version. A little more at ease. Hopefully, a little better,” he reflected.
Aamir, who was previously married to Reena Dutta and Kiran Rao, emphasized that both of those relationships ended amicably and with mutual respect. “I’ve been fortunate that the two women in my life, Reena and Kiran, have both been remarkable. Though we’re no longer married, the love and respect have never faded. That’s what’s kept us close even after parting ways. There was no bitterness with either.”
Remarkably, Aamir revealed that neither divorce involved legal battles. “During both divorces, we didn’t even hire separate lawyers. Just one lawyer, one conversation. That was it. These weren’t battles, just two people parting as partners, not adversaries.”
He credited the sustained warmth with his ex-wives to mutual effort and grace: “For a respectful, loving bond to continue after a marriage ends, both people have to want that. Reena is gracious, Kiran is gracious — and I’ve tried to be the same.”
Recalling a deeply personal moment, Aamir said, “When Reena’s father was unwell and initially refused treatment, she called me. I convinced him to get help for his cancer. You can’t fake that kind of trust. At Ira’s wedding, seeing us all together, I realised how rare this is.”
Earlier this month, Aamir made his first official public appearance with Gauri at the premiere of Sitaare Zameen Par in Mumbai. The couple was joined on the red carpet by Aamir’s youngest son, Azad Rao Khan, marking a milestone moment in the actor’s personal life.
Gauri Spratt, who hails from Bengaluru, works with Aamir Khan Films and comes from a multicultural background — with a Tamilian mother, an Irish father, and a six-year-old son from a previous relationship. With a professional history in fashion, styling, and photography, she is still adjusting to the glare of the Bollywood spotlight.
Interestingly, Gauri hasn’t seen many of Aamir’s films — except Lagaan and Dangal — but she has already met his inner circle, including Salman Khan and Shah Rukh Khan. “She’s been warmly welcomed,” Aamir said, adding that while Gauri is still navigating her place in the public eye, their bond continues to grow stronger in its own quiet, meaningful way.
