Bill Gates and his girlfriend Paula Hurd were spotted arriving hand-in-hand at Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sánchez’s lavish pre-wedding celebration in Venice, turning heads as they joined a guest list filled with global icons.

The couple attended the welcome party on Thursday evening, held at a historic cloister next to the Madonna dell’Orto church. Gates kept it classic in a black suit and white shirt, while Hurd opted for an elegant off-shoulder black gown, paired with a sparkling necklace and understated accessories. They appeared relaxed and in sync as they mingled with fellow guests.

This isn’t the first time Gates and Hurd have joined Bezos and Sánchez for a milestone event. The couple also attended the engagement party aboard Bezos’ mega-yacht last August on Italy’s Amalfi Coast.

The high-profile guest list at the Venice celebration included Tom Brady, Kim Kardashian, Oprah Winfrey, Kris Jenner, Corey Gamble, Orlando Bloom, and members of the Kardashian-Jenner family, among others.

A Look at Their Relationship
Gates and Hurd went public with their relationship in early 2023, nearly two years after Gates’ divorce from Melinda French Gates. According to People, Hurd had not met Gates’ children as of early 2023, but the couple have since become more visible together.

They made their red carpet debut in April 2024 at the Breakthrough Prize Ceremony in Los Angeles. In a February 2025 interview with Today host Savannah Guthrie, Gates confirmed their relationship, saying, “I’m lucky to have a serious girlfriend named Paula. We’re having fun—going to the Olympics and lots of great things.”

Gates also acknowledged Hurd’s support in his memoir Source Code: My Beginnings, crediting her for providing thoughtful feedback during the writing process.

As Bezos and Sánchez prepare to tie the knot, Gates and Hurd’s appearance signals how firmly rooted their relationship is—both personally and socially—within the world’s most influential circles.
