‘Satyamev Jayate’: Inter Kashi Crowned I-League Champions After Solo CAS Fight

When Inter Kashi were finally declared I-League 2024–25 champions, there were no confetti showers, no podium celebrations, no medals—just a quiet, one-line Instagram post: Satyamev Jayate.

For a club that had its title and promotion snatched away by an AIFF-appointed committee in April, the silence didn’t matter. What mattered was vindication—and the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) had delivered it. Inter Kashi were champions, and this time, it was official.

A Battle Fought Alone

“We always believed we were right,” club co-founder Aryaman Shukla told India Today after the verdict. “Everyone around the club understands football. This just proves what we knew all along.”

The road to justice was long and lonely. “It definitely disrupted planning,” Aryaman admitted. “We were in limbo—neither here nor there. Ideas were there, but without clarity, we couldn’t act.”

The legal route via CAS was efficient, he said, but emotionally and operationally draining. “This was 100% a solo battle,” he added. “There was no external support at all.”

Following the verdict, the All India Football Federation issued a brief statement:

“The All India Football Federation congratulates Inter Kashi FC on being adjudged champions of I-League 2024–25, in reference to the judgment passed by the Court of Arbitration for Sports (CAS) on Friday, July 18, 2025.”

What Comes Next?

With the title reinstated, Inter Kashi are now, officially, I-League champions—and theoretically eligible for promotion to the Indian Super League (ISL). But it’s not so straightforward.

The ISL’s structure and its promotion-relegation policy remain in flux. While Inter Kashi’s legal victory is definitive, their next step remains uncertain.

“One step at a time,” Aryaman said. “We’ve resumed internal planning, and we’ll be ready for whatever comes.”

A Title Earned, A Legacy Beginning

Though the broader uncertainty dims the spotlight a little, Inter Kashi’s moment is no less powerful. In only their second season as a club, they’ve not just won a league—they’ve won a fight many wouldn’t have taken on.

“To our fans—thank you,” Aryaman said. “This is just the beginning.”
