Dhanashree Verma Opens Up on ‘Broken Trust’ in MX Player’s Reality Show Rise and Fall.

The trailer for Rise and Fall, a new reality series hosted by entrepreneur Ashneer Grover on MX Player, has grabbed attention with its high-drama premise. The show divides 16 contestants into “rulers” and “workers,” putting their strategy and survival skills to the test. Among the participants are actor Arjun Bijlani, comedian Kiku Sharda, actress Kubbra Sait, and dancer-choreographer Dhanashree Verma, who is already making headlines with a striking comment in the promo.

In a key moment, as Kiku Sharda urges collaboration, Dhanashree replies, “Trust bohot pehle toot chuka tha (My trust was broken long ago),” sparking speculation that she was referencing her divorce from cricketer Yuzvendra Chahal. The couple married in December 2020 in Gurgaon but finalized their separation earlier this year, which Dhanashree confirmed in March 2025.

Open about her personal struggles, Dhanashree previously shared with Humans of Bombay how emotional the final divorce hearing was. “I couldn’t even express what I was feeling. I just kept crying,” she said, noting her surprise at Chahal’s choice of attire that day — a t-shirt reading “Be Your Own Sugar Daddy.”

Her candidness and sharp remarks in the trailer have already heightened public interest in her Rise and Fall journey. Host Ashneer Grover described the series as a “captivating social experiment,” highlighting the contrast between privilege and struggle among contestants.

With Dhanashree’s cryptic comments and expected clashes in the game, Rise and Fall promises a mix of drama, strategy, and personal revelations. Fans are keen to see whether she will continue reflecting on her past or focus entirely on the competition.
