Jaaved Jaaferi Says Ajay Devgn Once Gave Him Bhaang: ‘I Felt Like I Was Falling Into a Black Hole’

Actors Jaaved Jaaferi and Ajay Devgn may have reunited for De De Pyaar De 2, but an old incident between them has now taken the spotlight — thanks to Jaaved’s hilarious yet terrifying recollection of one of Ajay’s infamous pranks.

A Holi Prank Gone Wrong

In a recent conversation with Radio Mirchi, Jaaved revealed that during Holi celebrations at their hotel, Ajay Devgn secretly slipped bhaang into the festive food. Unaware of the mischief, Jaaved — who neither drinks nor smokes — ate a generous amount.

“This was my first time working with Ajay. He’s younger than me, very quiet, but he loves his pranks,” Jaaved recalled. “I didn’t know the food had bhaang. I ate heartily.”

‘I Felt Like I Was Falling Into a Black Hole’

Soon after, the effects hit him hard. Jaaved said he was speaking about something “very deep” when he realised something was terribly off.

“I suddenly felt something was wrong,” he said. “I told the person I needed to go to my room. Then it got weird. It felt like I was falling into a black hole.”

Panicked, he called his assistant, then reached out to his wife and son Meezaan, convinced something serious was happening. “I was almost giving my last will,” he joked.

Ajay Devgn’s Secret Finally Comes Out

It was only later that Jaaved discovered the truth — the bhaang had been part of Ajay’s prank.

“Baad mein pata chala ki yeh Mr Devgn ne prank play kiya tha,” he said, laughing.

Directed by Anshul Sharma, the upcoming sequel features Ajay Devgn, Rakul Preet Singh and R Madhavan, along with Jaaved Jaaferi, Meezaan Jaffri, Gautami Kapoor and Ishita Dutta.

While the bhaang episode may have shaken Jaaved at the time, it now fits perfectly into the long list of Ajay Devgn’s legendary on-set pranks — stories that continue to entertain long after the cameras stop rolling.
