Mastiii 4: Riteish, Vivek & Aftab Reunite; Vivek Oberoi Says He Wants J.Lo in the Film
The Masti franchise is officially gearing up for its long-awaited return with Mastiii 4, reuniting the iconic trio—Riteish Deshmukh, Vivek Oberoi and Aftab Shivdasani—nearly ten years after their last outing. In an exclusive conversation with IMDb, Oberoi and Shivdasani revisited the madness, memories and bond that have defined the comedy series since 2004, while also revealing a few surprising casting fantasies.
Aftab on His Bond With Riteish & Vivek: “When We Work, It Doesn’t Feel Like Work”
Aftab Shivdasani spoke warmly about reuniting with his longtime co-stars, calling their chemistry effortless and irreplaceable.
“Working with Riteish and Vivek is perhaps the best experience of my career. We’ve done four films together, and each one has only gotten better. When we’re working, we’re not really working—that’s the beauty of it.”
Their easy-going rapport, he said, is one of the franchise’s biggest strengths and a key reason Masti continues to resonate with audiences even two decades later.
Vivek Oberoi Shoots His Shot: Wants Jennifer Lopez in Mastiii 4
When asked which Hollywood celebrity they’d bring into the film if given a “free pass,” Vivek Oberoi instantly chose Jennifer Lopez.
- “Jennifer Lopez! I would tell J.Lo, ‘Love visa le lo!’ She’s incredible.”
- Aftab had his own unexpected pick—Brad Pitt.
- “Not because we want to look at Brad Pitt,” he joked, “but it would be amazing to have him with us.”
Their playful banter reflected the same fun energy that has become synonymous with the Masti team.
Vivek Gets Candid About the One Shoot He’d Relive
Oberoi turned nostalgic while recalling the making of Masti (2004), the film that cemented their comedic equation. He said the only thing he’d change if he could relive that shoot would be avoiding the accident that left him with a serious leg injury.
- “As long as my leg was in one piece, Masti 1 was so much fun.”
- The actors also revealed they have a secret WhatsApp group—but refused to reveal its name.
- “We’d have to kill you before telling you,” they laughed.
- A Childhood Memory: Aftab Worked With Suresh Oberoi at Age 10
In a touching moment, Aftab shared that he had acted alongside Vivek’s father, veteran actor Suresh Oberoi, in the 1990 film C.I.D. starring Vinod Khanna.
“Most of my scenes as a child actor were with Suresh Oberoi sir. I cherish it because he’s such a legend.”
Vivek Oberoi Reveals His Early Dance Career
Oberoi also opened up about his lesser-known dance background. Before entering films, he competed as a dancer in college festivals, frequently performing with Bosco–Caesar. He later worked with them professionally and even assisted Farah Khan and Ganesh Hegde.
