NIA Arrests 7th Suspect in Delhi Red Fort Blast; Al-Falah Staffer Linked to Suicide Bomber Nabbed
The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has arrested a seventh suspect in connection with the November 10 suicide car bombing outside Delhi’s Red Fort, which left multiple dead and many injured. The latest arrest, Soyab, a resident of Dhauj, Faridabad, has provided investigators with crucial insights into the network supporting the primary bomber, Umar Un Nabi.
Officials said Soyab, an employee of Al-Falah University, harboured Umar before the attack and provided logistical assistance. NIA teams, alongside earlier-arrested accused Dr Muzammil Shakeel Ganai, reconstructed the suspects’ movements and recovered materials believed to have been used in IED fabrication, including a grinder and a portable furnace from Muzammil’s residence.
Soyab is expected to be produced in court today, with NIA likely seeking custodial interrogation.
