Lionel Messi’s whirlwind India tour received an unexpected extension after a personal invitation from Anant Ambani.

The Argentine superstar, accompanied by Luis Suárez, Rodrigo De Paul, and other members of the G.O.A.T. India Tour entourage, traveled to Jamnagar to visit Vantara, the wildlife rescue and conservation centre, where they were hosted by Anant Ambani.

This Jamnagar stop came shortly after the official conclusion of the G.O.A.T. India Tour 2025 in New Delhi, which marked the finale of the four-city journey. Messi had previously delighted fans in Kolkata, Hyderabad, and Mumbai, before culminating the tour in the national capital on December 15.

Messi’s final public appearance in Delhi turned the Arun Jaitley Stadium into a sea of Argentina jerseys and banners. Despite a brief weather-related delay, thousands of fans created a carnival-like atmosphere for the superstar’s short but memorable appearance. Compared to the chaotic scenes in Kolkata, the Delhi chapter unfolded smoothly, providing a fitting close to Messi’s first multi-city visit to India.

During the closing moments, Messi thanked his Indian fans for their warmth and support, expressing hope to return—ideally to play a match in the country. While the football festivities concluded in Delhi, the visit to Vantara ensured Messi’s India journey extended beyond the stadiums, highlighting a different side of the superstar’s interests off the pitch.
