Senior India all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja has confirmed his availability for two matches in Saurashtra’s 2025–26 Vijay Hazare Trophy, a move that keeps him firmly in contention for India’s long-term ODI plans leading up to the 2027 World Cup.
Jadeja will turn out for Saurashtra in their Elite Group fixtures against Services on January 6 and Gujarat on January 8, with both matches scheduled to be played in Alur, Karnataka. The all-rounder has communicated his availability to the Saurashtra Cricket Association.
The decision follows the Board of Control for Cricket in India’s directive encouraging senior international players to use the window between India’s series against South Africa and New Zealand to gain match practice with their respective state teams during the domestic season.
One of India’s most seasoned limited-overs cricketers, Jadeja has played 260 List A matches, scoring 3,911 runs and claiming 293 wickets. He averages 32.86 with the bat and 34.22 with the ball in the format.
The Vijay Hazare Trophy, India’s premier domestic 50-over competition, is being held from December 24 to January 18. The 33rd edition features 38 teams, with 32 sides competing in the Elite division and six in the Plate competition. The Elite teams are split into four groups of eight, with the top two from each group progressing to the quarter-finals.
Jadeja is also part of the Rajasthan Royals squad for IPL 2026. Several Royals players will be in action during the Vijay Hazare Trophy, including Dhruv Jurel for Uttar Pradesh, Ravi Bishnoi for Gujarat, and Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, who will represent Bihar.
Elsewhere in the tournament, Sushant Mishra will feature for Jharkhand after playing a key role in their maiden Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy title earlier this season, finishing as joint-highest wicket-taker with 22 wickets in 11 matches.
Fast bowlers Sandeep Sharma (Chandigarh) and Yudhvir Singh (Jammu and Kashmir) are also set to feature, while Vidarbha’s Shubham Dubey, along with Vignesh Puthur (Kerala), Ravi Singh (Railways) and Aman Rao (Hyderabad), are among other notable names to watch in the competition.
