Sensex Opens Lower, Nifty Below 26,150; Titan Gains Nearly 4%
Benchmark indices opened lower on Wednesday as investor sentiment was weighed down by rising geopolitical tensions, with early losses in the auto sector dragging markets.
The S&P BSE Sensex fell 255.21 points to 84,808.13, while the NSE Nifty50 dropped 72.90 points to 26,105.80 as of 9:47 am.
Dr. VK Vijayakumar, Chief Investment Strategist at Geojit Investments, noted that markets may remain volatile: “Recent movements lack clear direction. Actions in a few mega stocks are disproportionately influencing the market. Yesterday, despite positive institutional buying, Nifty fell by 71 points due to sharp declines in Reliance and HDFC Bank.”
