The Raja Saab Day 7 Box Office: Prabhas’ Film Struggles to Stay Afloat

Prabhas’ The Raja Saab is on track to become one of the biggest box office disappointments in recent times. The horror-comedy, despite a strong opening, is struggling to cross the ₹200-crore mark worldwide in its first week.

Box Office Update

The Raja Saab opened to ₹100 crore globally on Friday, raising hopes for a solid pre-Pongal/Sankranti weekend. But the film quickly lost momentum, with steep drops in daily collections. After failing to recover on Monday, it could not bounce back even during the holiday period. On Thursday, it managed just ₹5.65 crore net in India, taking its domestic total to ₹130.40 crore net (₹156.50 crore gross). Overseas, the film earned around $4 million in its first week, bringing the global total to ₹191 crore gross.

The Worrying Gap

Despite the strong start, the film is unlikely to hit ₹200 crore by Friday. With a reportedly massive ₹350-crore budget, The Raja Saab remains far from profitable. Comparatively, Prabhas’ earlier releases like Adipurush and Saaho crossed ₹300 crore in their first week, leaving The Raja Saab trailing by over ₹110 crore.

About the Film

Directed by Maruthi, The Raja Saab marked Prabhas’ return to the family entertainer genre after more than a decade of mass actioners. The film stars Sanjay Dutt, Malavika Mohanan, Nidhhi Agerwal, Riddhi Kumar, Boman Irani, and Zarina Wahab. Despite initial curiosity, negative reviews from critics led to a steep decline at the box office.
