Varun Dhawan Shares Fun Moments with Diljit Dosanjh on ‘Border 2’ Sets

As excitement builds for his upcoming film Border 2, Varun Dhawan opened up about the fun he had with Punjabi superstar Diljit Dosanjh on set.

Speaking at a special event for the film, Varun recalled, “We’d play cricket together, work out together, have ice-cream together — just have fun. And sometimes, I even sang Diljit sir’s songs to him! I don’t know why I did that, but when someone is your favourite singer, these things happen,” he laughed.

Border 2 is the sequel to J. P. Dutta’s 1997 blockbuster Border, which depicted the Battle of Longewala during the 1971 India–Pakistan war. The sequel promises a large-scale patriotic drama, retaining the military focus and emotional intensity that made the original a classic.

Sunny Deol, who played Major Kuldip Singh Chandpuri in the first film, returns, anchoring the story to the original. The film is directed by Anurag Singh (Kesari), and produced under J. P. Dutta’s banner with major studio backing, promising modern production values, high-scale action sequences, and strong character-driven storytelling.

With Border 2, fans can look forward to a mix of camaraderie, battlefield drama, and the spirit of patriotism that defined the original film.
