Delhi SWAT Commando Kajal Chaudhary Killed by Husband: Brother Recalls Her Horrific Final Call
The brother of Kajal Chaudhary, the Delhi SWAT commando killed by her husband, has recounted the harrowing last phone call with his sister. Nikhil Chaudhary, a constable posted at Parliament Street Police Station, told PTI that the accused, Ankur, instructed him to record the call while he allegedly threatened and assaulted Kajal.
“He told me to put the call on recording, saying it could be used as police evidence. Then he said he was killing her—and I could hear her screams,” Nikhil recalled.
The ordeal began when Nikhil received a call from Ankur, who said: “Apni behan ko samjha le” (Make your sister understand). Nikhil immediately called Kajal. During the call, she shared details of her suffering, angering Ankur, who reportedly snatched the phone and threatened her.
Ankur allegedly said: “Is call ko recording pe rakh, police evidence me kaam aayega. Main maar raha hoon teri behan ko. Police mera kuch nahi kar payegi” (Put this call on recording; it will serve as police evidence. I am killing your sister. Police won’t be able to do anything). Kajal’s screams could be heard before the call abruptly ended.
Minutes later, Nikhil’s phone rang again. Ankur reportedly said: “Ye mar gayi hai. Hospital aajao” (She is dead. Come to the hospital). Nikhil rushed with police personnel to the hospital, where Ankur and his family were already present.
Kajal’s family said Ankur smashed her head with a dumbbell, leaving her with severe injuries across her body. She was four months pregnant and had a one-and-a-half-year-old son.
The family alleged that Kajal faced harassment from her husband and in-laws over dowry, with demands for a car and money beginning within 15 days of marriage. Due to the alleged abuse, she had moved to Delhi in 2024, but Ankur continued his demands and physical assaults.
Kajal was killed on January 22, and Ankur was arrested the same night. He has been booked on murder charges. [Change Content]
