Toxic Box Office Day 1: Yash Starrer Opens at Rs 140 Crore Worldwide, Surpasses Jawan, Animal

Toxic Box Office Collection Day 1: Yash’s highly anticipated film Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups opened in theatres on Wednesday and delivered a strong start despite receiving mixed reviews. Directed by Geetu Mohandas, the gangster drama features Kiara Advani, Nayanthara, Huma Qureshi, Tara Sutaria and Rukmini Vasanth alongside Yash.

According to industry tracker Sacnilk, Toxic collected approximately Rs 101 crore net in India on its opening day. Its worldwide gross stood at around Rs 140.75 crore, comprising nearly Rs 120.75 crore from India and Rs 20 crore from overseas markets.

The film recorded strong audience turnout across languages. Kannada screenings registered around 89% occupancy, while the Hindi version recorded approximately 53% occupancy.

Toxic Surpasses Jawan, Animal and Dhurandhar

Toxic delivered a blockbuster opening at the worldwide box office and surpassed the opening-day figures of several major releases, including Jawan, Animal, Pathaan and Dhurandhar.

The Hindi version was a major contributor, reportedly generating around Rs 55 crore net on Day 1. Despite its impressive occupancy of nearly 89%, the Kannada version collected less than Rs 25 crore, while the Telugu version also posted a strong performance.

The film’s opening has given Yash another major box-office milestone, with Toxic emerging as one of the biggest Indian openers.

What Is Toxic About?

Toxic is set in post-independence Goa and centres on a gangster caught between loyalty, morality and his desire for redemption. The story explores themes of violence, jealousy, love and the personal cost of seeking redemption.

The film combines a dark atmospheric setting with action sequences and morally conflicted characters as its protagonist attempts to navigate a world shaped by crime and competing loyalties.
