Etihad Rail Passenger Service Begins in Dubai: Routes, Fares and Ticket Booking

Dubai’s first Etihad Rail passenger train service began operations on Wednesday, September 30, connecting the emirate with Abu Dhabi and Fujairah as part of the UAE’s expanding passenger rail network.

The new service is aimed at improving connectivity between the three emirates while making travel more convenient for residents and visitors. It is also expected to support tourism, business and commercial activity and contribute to stronger economic links between the emirates.

The UAE’s first passenger rail service began on June 30, connecting Abu Dhabi and Fujairah. The expansion to Dubai marks another step in the development of the country’s national passenger railway network.

The passenger rail project was announced less than five years ago under the UAE’s Projects of the 50 initiative. Etihad Rail has been developing the network as part of efforts to create an integrated railway system connecting major cities and regions across the country.

According to Etihad Rail, passengers travelling on the trains will have access to several modern amenities, including wireless internet and charging ports for electronic devices at every seat. The trains also offer dedicated luggage space to make longer journeys more convenient.

The expansion of passenger services is expected to give travellers an alternative to road transport while providing faster and more convenient links between key destinations in the UAE.
