Riyadh Airport Faces Another Attack Amid Houthi Warning
Riyadh airport reportedly came under another attack on Sunday afternoon, leaving people injured, according to Saudi Arabia’s civil aviation authority. Officials were assessing the damage and examining the safety of airport facilities. The airport was closed following the attacks.
Meanwhile, Yemen’s Houthi rebels renewed their warning to airlines, airport employees and travellers against using Saudi airports, accusing the kingdom of carrying out failed interceptions.
Missile Strike Hits King Khalid International Airport
India strongly condemned the missile strike on King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh, describing repeated attacks on civilians and civilian infrastructure as “completely unacceptable”.
The missile struck the airport complex housing Terminals 3 and 4, which primarily handle domestic flights. Saudi authorities said those killed in the attack included four Saudi nationals, two Bangladeshi nationals and citizens of Palestine, the United States, Egypt, Jordan, Syria and Sudan.
A Saudi-led coalition blamed Iran-backed Houthi rebels in neighbouring Yemen for the strike.
In a statement, India’s Ministry of External Affairs condemned repeated attacks on the airport over the preceding days, including the October 10 incident, which caused deaths, injuries and property damage.
“The repeated attacks on civilians and civilian infrastructure are completely unacceptable and must cease immediately,” the MEA said.
