Abhinav Kashyap Reignites Feud With Salman Khan as Dabangg Turns 15.

As Dabangg approaches its 15th anniversary, director Abhinav Kashyap has revisited his long-standing conflict with Salman Khan and the Khan family. Kashyap, who helmed the 2010 blockbuster that spawned one of Bollywood’s biggest franchises, claims his decision to step away from Dabangg 2 triggered efforts to derail his career.

Allegations Against Salman Khan

In an interview with SCREEN, Kashyap offered a scathing assessment of Salman Khan’s approach to acting. “Salman is not interested in acting, and hasn’t been for 25 years. He does a favour by showing up. He is more invested in the power of celebrity. He is a gunda (goon),” the filmmaker said.

He further accused the actor and his family of using their influence to suppress dissent. “They are vindictive people. They control the system. If you don’t agree with them, they come after you,” Kashyap alleged.

Echoes of Anurag Kashyap’s Experience

Abhinav also linked his own fallout to past disputes involving his brother, Anurag Kashyap. He recalled how Anurag had written the script for Salman’s 2003 film Tere Naam but parted ways with the project after disagreements with producer Boney Kapoor.

“He told me before Dabangg that I wouldn’t be able to make a film with Salman. He didn’t explain in detail, but he knew these vultures,” Abhinav said, claiming his brother had also been denied due credit for his contribution.

Salman Khan’s Silence

Despite repeated accusations, Salman Khan has never directly addressed Abhinav Kashyap’s claims. The actor continues to remain silent even as the Dabangg franchise endures as one of his most commercially successful ventures.
