BSP Marks Ambedkar Day in Noida and Lucknow; Akash Anand Takes Center Stage.

The Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) is organizing large-scale events in Noida and Lucknow today to commemorate Dr. B.R. Ambedkar’s death anniversary. However, Mayawati will not personally attend either gathering.

According to party sources, Mayawati will pay her respects to Baba Saheb Bhimrao Ambedkar from her Delhi residence. In Noida, around 50,000 people are expected, where Akash Anand will lead the tribute along with workers from six party divisions.

Meanwhile, in Lucknow, 18 divisions will gather at Ambedkar Park, led by Munakad Ali and state president Vishwanath Pal.

Akash Anand in Spotlight

The Noida event, entirely managed by Akash Anand, signals the party’s effort to promote him in major public engagements. Party insiders suggest this is part of a deliberate strategy to establish Akash as a key public face of the BSP.

Mayawati Maintains Distance

Political analysts note that Mayawati’s absence, despite the event being just 15 km from Delhi, is intentional. Sources say the move is designed to:

  1. Strengthen Akash Anand’s independent command in western UP, particularly Noida.

  2. Accelerate his emergence as a prominent party leader.

  3. Continue Mayawati’s traditional approach of delivering controlled political messages, often by avoiding large crowded events.

As a result, the entire Noida Ambedkar Day programme is under Akash Anand’s leadership, while Mayawati pays tribute from her home in Delhi.
