Anurag Kashyap Joins CJP-Led Protest at Jantar Mantar, Says ‘It’s Time These Children Got the Right to Vote’

Several Bollywood personalities have publicly expressed support for the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP)-led protest at Delhi’s Jantar Mantar.

Where demonstrators are demanding the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan. Filmmaker Anurag Kashyap was among the latest celebrities to react, sharing a strongly worded note on Instagram that quickly gained traction online.

In his post, Kashyap wrote, “What they don’t understand about the kids who’ve come down on the streets to protest is that they were between 2 and 6 years old when the Prime Minister came to power. All they’ve seen is Congress-mukt Bharat, and they’re tired of it. They want answers, and they genuinely deserve them.” He concluded, “Kisi aur ko gaali deke iss baar nahin chalega. In bachchon ke sawaal poochne aur vote dene ka time aa gaya hai.”

Actor Saqib Saleem also shared his views, saying, “Somewhere along the way, ‘anti-national’ started meaning anyone who asks difficult questions. Students seeking answers about their own exams, mothers demanding accountability for their children’s future, and elderly citizens standing in protest were met with force. Call it whatever you want—I call it wrong.” He added that regardless of political differences, the treatment of peaceful protesters should concern everyone.

Actor Aditi Rao Hydari stressed the importance of empathy and dialogue, writing, “Whatever anyone’s political preferences may be, humanity must come above all. We must ensure a safe environment built on respect, dignity and empathy for our students and everyone seeking to be heard through constructive dialogue. Our students are our future.”

Actors Imran Khan, Huma Qureshi, and Amol Parashar also voiced their support through social media posts, urging accountability and peaceful engagement with the protesters.

Meanwhile, veteran actors Shabana Azmi, Kunickaa Sadanand, Poonam Pandey, and Prakash Raj travelled to Delhi to participate in the demonstration. Internet personalities and musicians, including Char Diwari, Puneet Superstar, and Hanumankind, were also seen at Jantar Mantar, extending their support to the ongoing protest.
