Arjun Tendulkar, son of former India captain Sachin Tendulkar, is engaged to Saaniya Chandok, granddaughter of prominent Mumbai businessman Ravi Ghai.

The engagement was an intimate family affair attended by close relatives and friends. Arjun, 25, is a left-arm fast-bowling all-rounder who represents Goa in domestic cricket and has also played for the Mumbai Indians in the Indian Premier League. He began his career with Mumbai in the 2020/21 season before moving to Goa in 2022/23, where he made his first-class and List A debuts. In red-ball cricket, he has scored 532 runs with one century and taken 37 wickets, including a five-wicket haul. He has also featured in 17 List A matches and five IPL games.

Who is Saaniya Chandok?
Saaniya comes from one of Mumbai’s most influential hospitality families. Her grandfather, Ravi Iqbal Ghai, chairs Graviss Hospitality Ltd, which owns the InterContinental Marine Drive hotel and the Brooklyn Creamery ice cream brand. The Ghai family’s legacy dates back to Iqbal Krishan “IK” Ghai, who founded Kwality Ice Cream and played a major role in shaping India’s ice cream industry. Saaniya herself is a partner and director at Mr. Paws Pet Spa & Store LLP in Mumbai.

With the engagement, two prominent Mumbai families—one from cricketing royalty and the other from hospitality business legacy—have come together.
