Bank Holidays This Week: Closures for Durga Puja, Dussehra, Gandhi Jayanti.
Banks across India will remain closed on several days between late September and early October 2025 for Durga Puja, Navratri, Dussehra, Gandhi Jayanti, and other regional festivals. According to the RBI holiday calendar, branches observe nationwide holidays, state-specific festivals, and weekly offs on Sundays and the second & fourth Saturdays.
Key Bank Closures This Week:
September 29: Maha Saptami – Agartala, Kolkata, Guwahati
September 30: Maha Ashtami/Durga Ashtami – Bhubaneswar, Jaipur, Patna, Ranchi, and more
October 1: Dussehra, Ayudha Pooja, Durga Puja – Tripura, Karnataka, Odisha, Tamil Nadu, Assam, Bihar, Jharkhand, and others
October 2: Nationwide Gandhi Jayanti, coinciding with Dussehra and Durga Puja in several states
October 3–4: Durga Puja (Dasain) – Sikkim
October 5: Sunday (regular closure)
Customers can continue using digital banking, ATMs, and mobile apps, but services like cheque clearance, RTGS, and NEFT may be delayed. In-person banking should be planned ahead to avoid inconvenience.

- SBI, Bank of India, PNB: 10 am – 4 pm
- ICICI, HDFC, Axis, Yes Bank, Kotak Mahindra: 9:30 am – 3:30/4:30 pm
- Bank of Baroda: 9:45 am – 4:45 pm / 10 am – 5 pm
- Canara Bank: 10 am – 3:30 pm
