Anu Malik Seeks Credit for ‘Ghar Kab Aaoge’ in ‘Border 2’, Recreated from ‘Sandese Aate Hain’

Bollywood composer Anu Malik has asserted that he deserves credit for the recreated hit song ‘Ghar Kab Aaoge’ in Border 2, adapted from the classic ‘Sandese Aate Hain’. The film’s teaser dropped recently, with Mithoon handling the recreation and new lyrics penned by Manoj Muntashir. The song is set to release on January 2.

Original Creators and Singers
The timeless ‘Sandese Aate Hain’ originally featured music by Anu Malik and lyrics by Javed Akhtar. ‘Ghar Kab Aaoge’ brings back original singer Sonu Nigam, who is now joined by Arijit Singh, Vishal Mishra, and Diljit Dosanjh. Malik expressed confidence that both he and Akhtar will receive proper credit in the new film.

Anu Malik’s Statement
Speaking to PTI, Malik said, “I believe the song is recreated. I’m not a part of it, but I’m sure they will give my name because I created the song. People know our contribution—they can’t get away from it. Border 2 can’t exist without Sandese Aate Hain. Both Anu Malik and Javed sahab are up there in contribution, so they will have to put our names somewhere.

“I think it’s going to be brilliant because Sonu is a fabulous singer, and Arijit is magical. It will be a magical combination, but the tune is going to be Anu Malik. You can’t get away from Anu Malik and Javed sahab; the song they wrote is so great.”

Film Background
