Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat continues to dominate the global box office, emerging as one of 2025’s biggest sleeper hits.

The romantic drama starring Harshvardhan Rane and Sonam Bajwa has crossed the ₹100 crore mark worldwide within just 12 days of release, fueled by positive word of mouth and strong audience connect.

Box office milestone

According to trade reports, Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat has collected around ₹66 crore nett (₹80 crore gross) in India and an additional ₹15 crore overseas, taking its total worldwide tally to ₹101 crore. The producers, Desi Movies Factory, confirmed the milestone on Monday, calling it a “victory for heartfelt storytelling and strong performances.”

Despite a modest opening, the film has shown remarkable hold, with steady weekday collections and packed weekend shows across major cities. Trade insiders suggest that the movie could reach the ₹120 crore mark by the end of its theatrical run.

Surpassing other romantic hits

The Milap Zaveri directorial has now outperformed several other romantic dramas of the year, including Sidharth Malhotra and Janhvi Kapoor’s Param Sundari (₹86 crore) and Rajkummar Rao’s Bhool Chuk Maaf (₹91 crore). Only Saiyaara, which grossed over ₹575 crore, remains the year’s top-grossing romance so far.

What’s working for the film

Released on Diwali weekend, Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat opened to mixed critical reviews but quickly picked up due to audience appreciation for its emotional storyline, soulful music, and lead pair’s chemistry. The film’s blend of old-school romance and contemporary storytelling seems to have resonated strongly with family audiences and young viewers alike.
