Embassy of India in Abu Dhabi issues travel advisory for Indians in UAE: ‘Avoid unnecessary travel, remain vigilant’
India has issued an advisory asking its nationals in the United Arab Emirates to avoid unnecessary travel amid rising tensions across the Middle East.
The advisory was issued by the Embassy of India in Abu Dhabi after disruptions to air travel were reported in parts of the Gulf region. Indian nationals living in the UAE have been advised to “avoid unnecessary travel, take due care, remain vigilant and follow safety guidelines and advisories issued by local authorities.”
The precautionary advisory comes as geopolitical tensions and military strikes continue to escalate across the Middle East, prompting heightened security alerts in several Gulf countries.
The UAE is home to one of the largest Indian expatriate communities in the world, with more than 3.5 million Indians living and working in the country. In view of the current situation, the Indian government has urged its citizens to remain calm and vigilant.
Officials have also advised people not to spread unverified information on social media and to rely only on official communication channels for updates.
The Embassy of India in Abu Dhabi and the Consulate General of India in Dubai are functioning normally. In case of emergencies, Indian nationals can contact the embassy’s toll-free helpline (800-46342), its WhatsApp support service, or designated email addresses for assistance.
Meanwhile, several airlines have cancelled or reduced flights due to airspace restrictions and safety protocols linked to the regional tensions. The ongoing conflict has disrupted travel for thousands of passengers across the Middle East.
Despite the situation, daily life in major cities such as Abu Dhabi and Dubai continues with caution. Authorities have once again urged Indian nationals in the UAE to stay alert and limit non-essential travel until the situation stabilises.
