Esha Deol has broken her silence on life after separating from husband Bharat Takhtani. In a conversation with YouTube channel Mamaraazzi, the actress explained why she doesn’t like being called a “single mother.”

“I don’t like to think of myself as a single mother because I don’t behave like one, nor do I let the other person behave that way with me,” Esha said.

She emphasised the importance of coparenting and shared that she and Bharat continue to focus on their daughters’ well-being. “When two people decide to separate, they must maturely understand the situation and take responsibility. Especially when children are involved, it’s important to work out a new dynamic but keep the unit together for their sake. That’s exactly what Bharat and I do,” she added.

Why Esha and Bharat Parted Ways

Esha and businessman Bharat Takhtani tied the knot in 2012 and announced their separation in 2024 after 11 years of marriage. While they did not disclose the reason, their joint statement stressed that the decision was “mutual and amicable,” with their daughters Radhya and Miraya’s welfare as the top priority.

Recently, Bharat made headlines after introducing Meghna Lakhani as his new partner. Sharing a romantic picture on Instagram, he captioned it: “Welcome to the family, it’s official.”
