Mira Nair, Mother of NYC Mayor Zohran Mamdani, Mentioned in Newly Released Epstein Files
New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani’s mother, filmmaker Mira Nair, is referenced in newly released documents from convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, showing she attended an afterparty at Ghislaine Maxwell’s Manhattan residence following the 2009 premiere of her film Amelia.
The U.S. Justice Department on Friday released over three million pages of documents, including 2,000 videos and 180,000 images, detailing Epstein’s activities.
An email dated October 21, 2009, sent by publicist Peggy Siegal to Epstein, described the gathering shortly after Siegal left the event. According to the email, guests included former President Bill Clinton and Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos, alongside Nair.
“Just left Ghislaine’s townhouse…after party for film. Bill Clinton and Jeff Bezos were there…Jean Pigoni, director Mira Nair…etc,” the email read.
The email also noted that Nair’s film received a “tepid reaction,” adding, “Film received tepid reaction although women like it much more…Hillary Swank and Gen: at stupid party in Bloomingdales cheap sportwear department…very weird. Studio went for free party from store and windows for a month…Going to be in Wall Street 2 tomorrow…more to come. xoxo Peg.”
Elon Musk Also Named in Epstein Files
The newly released files also reference Tesla CEO Elon Musk. In November 2012, Epstein emailed Musk asking about the number of guests for a helicopter trip to his private island. Musk replied on November 25, 2012, “Probably just Talulah and me. What day/night will be the wildest party on your island?”
The documents offer further insight into Epstein’s network and high-profile social circles, though the context of the mentions does not suggest any allegations against those referenced.
