IndiGo Flight Hits Pole While Landing at Srinagar Airport, All Passengers Safe

An IndiGo flight from Navi Mumbai to Srinagar came into contact with a Visual Docking Guidance System (VDGS) pole while being parked at Srinagar Airport on Friday morning, the airline said.

The incident involved IndiGo flight 6E 225, which was being positioned at Bay No. 06 at around 9:02 am. The aircraft, registered as VT-NOG, came into contact with the VDGS pole during the parking process, according to the airline.

All passengers and crew members on board were safe, with no injuries reported. Passengers were subsequently deboarded safely using manual stairs, IndiGo said.

The airline said the incident will be investigated by the relevant authorities in accordance with established procedures. It added that the exact cause would be determined only after the inquiry is completed and that no conclusions have been reached at this stage.

Airport operations were not affected by the incident, with both arrivals and departures continuing as scheduled, IndiGo said.
