Iran Rebukes Trump Over ‘Disrespectful’ Remarks, Rejects Nuclear Talks Amid Escalating Tensions.

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi issued a scathing rebuke of former U.S. President Donald Trump on Saturday, urging him to abandon his “disrespectful and unacceptable tone” toward Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei if he is serious about reviving the nuclear deal.

In a post on X, Araghchi stated, “If President Trump is genuine about wanting a deal, he should put aside the disrespectful and unacceptable tone towards Iran’s Supreme Leader, Grand Ayatollah Khamenei, and stop hurting his millions of heartfelt supporters.”

The minister’s remarks came in response to Trump’s provocative social media post on Friday, in which the former president claimed he had spared Khamenei from assassination during his tenure, accusing Iran’s leader of being “ungrateful.”

“I knew exactly where he was sheltered,” Trump wrote. “I saved him from a very ugly and ignominious death, and he does not have to say, ‘Thank you, President Trump!’”

Trump also claimed he had considered easing sanctions on Tehran—a key Iranian demand—but reversed course after receiving what he described as a “statement of anger, hatred, and disgust” from Iran.

Araghchi, however, dismissed the narrative, further escalating tensions by invoking recent military clashes. “The great and powerful Iranian people, who showed the world that the Israeli regime had no choice but to run to ‘Daddy’ to avoid being flattened by our missiles, do not take kindly to threats and insults,” he said, in a pointed jab at both Israel and the United States.

Meanwhile, Iranian officials have denied Trump’s claim that nuclear talks are set to resume, stating there are no negotiations scheduled. This comes just days after the U.S. military targeted three Iranian nuclear facilities in what marked a direct American entry into Israel’s ongoing 12-day campaign against Iran’s nuclear infrastructure.

While the extent of the damage remains unclear, the strikes underscore rising hostilities and the dwindling prospects for diplomacy in the region.
