Khamenei Warns of All-Out Battle as Iran Fires Hypersonic Missiles at Israel.

Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei issued a sharp warning to Israel on Wednesday as the conflict between the two nations escalated dramatically. His statement came hours after Iran claimed to have launched hypersonic missiles at Israel in a significant escalation of hostilities now entering their sixth consecutive day.

In a symbolic and charged message posted on X (formerly Twitter), Khamenei wrote,

“In the name of the renowned Haydar, the battle begins. Ali, with his Zulfiqar, to Khaybar returns.”

The message invoked powerful Shia religious imagery. “Haydar” is an epithet for Imam Ali, the first Imam in Shia Islam, while Zulfiqar refers to his legendary double-edged sword. Khaybar alludes to a 7th-century battle between early Muslims and Jewish tribes, frequently cited in ideological and militant rhetoric.

Khamenei followed up with a more direct statement:

“We must act forcefully against the terrorist Zionist entity. We will not show leniency toward the Zionists.”

Hypersonic Missile Strike and Rising Tensions
Iranian military sources claimed overnight hypersonic missile strikes were launched on Israeli targets, significantly raising the stakes. The move comes even as U.S. President Donald Trump demanded Iran’s “unconditional surrender” in a late-night address, further deepening the crisis.

In retaliation, Israel launched multiple airstrikes early Wednesday on Iranian territory. Explosions were reported across Tehran, though Iranian authorities have not issued an official confirmation of the attacks.

According to local media reports and Reuters, Israel specifically targeted Imam Hossein University in eastern Tehran, a facility affiliated with the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC). Another reported target was the Khojir missile production facility, a key component of Iran’s strategic military infrastructure.

Missile Alerts in Israel
Meanwhile, Israel reported fresh missile barrages launched by Iran. Air raid sirens sounded across several regions, with the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) confirming that a hostile aircraft had crossed from the east and was successfully intercepted.

“Sirens were activated in accordance with protocol due to a suspected hostile air threat,” said an IDF spokesperson.

As both nations exchange fire and threats, concerns grow internationally over the possibility of a wider regional conflict.
