Chiranjeevi Condemns AI Abuse In Viral Janhvi Kapoor-Jr NTR ‘Chuttamalle’ Video

Megastar Chiranjeevi has strongly condemned the alleged misuse of artificial intelligence to create a sexually explicit, morphed version of the ‘Chuttamalle’ song featuring Janhvi Kapoor and Jr NTR from Devara: Part 1. He has called for the Telugu film industry to unite against AI-generated abuse and said he will raise the issue with film bodies and cyber crime authorities.

The manipulated video reportedly circulated widely on social media before being taken down. It used footage of Janhvi from the original song and digitally altered it to create explicit content.

Chiranjeevi described the incident as a serious misuse of technology and stressed that such abuse should not be treated as entertainment or dismissed as a joke.

“I am deeply disturbed by the use of AI to create degrading and morphed videos of a woman. Such acts are cruel, shameful and completely unacceptable. I strongly condemn them,” Chiranjeevi said in a statement on X.

He added that the issue goes beyond one actor or film, warning that anyone could become a victim of similar abuse.

“Today, it has happened to someone else. Tomorrow, it could happen to you, me or anyone we know,” he said, urging people not to remain silent.

Chiranjeevi Calls For Industry Support System

Chiranjeevi said he intends to take up the matter with the Telugu Film Chamber, Producers’ Council and other affiliated industry organisations.

He proposed the creation of a dedicated committee and support cell to assist victims of AI-generated abuse, coordinate the removal of such material and work with cyber crime authorities to pursue legal action.

According to Chiranjeevi, both those who create such content and those who knowingly circulate or amplify it should be held accountable.

“This cannot be dismissed as a joke or treated as entertainment,” he said.

He also appealed to governments at the central and state levels to take stronger measures against the misuse of AI.

Jr NTR Had Earlier Condemned The Morphed Video

Jr NTR, who stars alongside Janhvi Kapoor in Devara: Part 1, had earlier reacted strongly after the manipulated version of ‘Chuttamalle’ began circulating online.

Calling the use of AI to create the content “disgusting” and “shameless”, the actor said he would pursue legal action against those responsible.

He also urged people not to watch, share or engage with the video, warning that such technology could potentially be used against anyone.

Jr NTR further called on state governments and the Centre to introduce stronger regulations to prevent the misuse of AI.

Chiranjeevi Urges Netizens Not To Circulate Video

Chiranjeevi echoed Jr NTR’s appeal and specifically asked people not to search for, download, share or circulate the manipulated video, even if their intention is to condemn it.

Instead, he urged users to report such material directly to social media platforms and cyber crime authorities.

“The entire Telugu film fraternity must come together for this effort,” Chiranjeevi said, calling on artists, technicians, industry associations, audiences and fans to play their part.

“Protecting human dignity is our collective responsibility. Let us stand together, speak up and act,” he added.

What Is The ‘Chuttamalle’ Controversy?

‘Chuttamalle’ is a popular song from Devara: Part 1, starring Jr NTR and Janhvi Kapoor. The film was released in September 2024. The song was composed by Anirudh Ravichander and sung by Shilpa Rao.

The controversy centres on an AI-manipulated version that allegedly altered Janhvi Kapoor’s original footage to create sexually explicit material without her consent.
