Soldier Injured in Udhampur Encounter, 4 Suspected Jaish Terrorists Trapped.

An Army soldier was injured on Friday in a gunfight with suspected Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir’s Udhampur district. Security forces, acting on specific intelligence, launched the operation in the Dudu Basantgarh heights, where three to four terrorists were trapped.

The White Knight Corps confirmed on X that the operation is ongoing along the Doda-Udhampur border. Earlier reports of a simultaneous encounter in Kishtwar were later clarified to be incorrect.

The region has witnessed multiple encounters over the past year. Notably, top JeM commander Haider was eliminated in the Dudu-Basantgarh forest on June 26, and an Army soldier was killed in Basantgarh on April 25.

In a separate operation, Jammu and Kashmir Police’s Counter-Intelligence unit conducted searches across seven Kashmir Valley districts, recovering a large cache of weapons, including 20 Chinese hand grenades, in Poonch. Digital devices and documents were also seized, reportedly thwarting plans for terror activities.
