Kangana Ranaut Questions Bollywood Silence on Jharkhand Students’ Protest: ‘Ye Doglapan Nahi Chalega’

Kangana Ranaut has criticised Bollywood celebrities for allegedly remaining silent over the ongoing students’ protests in Jharkhand.

The actor and BJP MP accused sections of the film industry of showing selective concern for student-led movements and questioned why similar support was not being extended to the protesters in Jharkhand.

Speaking to ANI, Kangana referred to the industry’s earlier response to protests at Jantar Mantar and accused celebrities of shedding “crocodile tears” over those demonstrations while ignoring the situation involving students in Jharkhand.

Kangana Questions Bollywood’s Selective Support

Kangana was asked about her earlier remarks targeting veteran actor Naseeruddin Shah over his comments on student protests. Defending her position, she said the issue reflected what she described as a long-standing attitude within the film industry.

She also recalled the security concerns surrounding the Parliament attack and claimed that her own residence had previously been surrounded by a large crowd, requiring a significant police deployment.

Referring to the protests in Jharkhand, Kangana questioned why the same celebrities who had spoken out over student demonstrations at Jantar Mantar were not raising their voices for students there.

She said the film industry’s “hypocrisy” would not be acceptable and argued that students in Jharkhand deserved the same attention and concern.

Kangana’s ‘Gen Z’ Remark Comes Under Focus

The actor was also asked to clarify her controversial comments about Gen Z and participants in the Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) protests. Kangana had previously faced criticism after using the phrase “Generation Gutter” while commenting on young protesters.

Explaining her remark, Kangana said she was referring specifically to people who identified themselves with the term “cockroach” and argued that her statement was not directed at all young people.

She maintained that she had not said all young people belonged in the “gutter” and said her comments were aimed at specific individuals or groups rather than an entire generation.

Kangana’s latest comments have once again brought attention to the debate over Bollywood celebrities’ responses to student protests and political demonstrations.
