Firing Reported Outside Kapil Sharma’s Café in Canada; Khalistani Terrorist Claims Responsibility.
Comedian Kapil Sharma’s newly launched venture in Canada, Kap’s Cafe, was reportedly targeted in a late-night firing incident on Wednesday in Surrey, British Columbia. Unidentified assailants opened fire at the building housing the café before fleeing the scene. No injuries were reported.
The attack has been claimed by Khalistani terrorist Harjeet Singh Laddi, a wanted fugitive listed by India’s National Investigation Agency (NIA). Laddi is known to be associated with the banned terror outfit Babbar Khalsa International (BKI).
Sources suggest the attack may have been provoked by a past comment made by Sharma, though details remain unverified. It is also unclear whether the café itself was the intended target or if the firing was meant as an intimidation tactic aimed at the comedian.
Kapil Sharma, one of India’s most prominent entertainers, recently debuted the third season of The Kapil Sharma Show on Netflix. The first few episodes have featured high-profile guests, including Salman Khan, the Metro In Dino cast, top Indian cricketers, and an upcoming lineup of OTT stars like Jaideep Ahlawat, Vijay Varma, Pratik Gandhi, and Jeetendra Kumar.
Canadian authorities have launched an investigation into the incident. Security measures around the premises are being reviewed.
