CBI Summons Vijay
The CBI has summoned Vijay as part of its investigation into the campaign rally stampede in Karur that occurred on September 27, 2025. The Supreme Court had ordered a CBI probe into the tragedy in October 2025.
The stampede took place during a TVK political rally on the Karur-Erode highway near Velusamypuram, following a massive crowd surge. At least 41 people died, including 9 children and 18 women, while over 100 others were injured, making it one of the deadliest political rally incidents in Tamil Nadu.
