Dense Fog Disrupts Flight Operations; IndiGo, Air India, SpiceJet Warn Passengers.

Major Indian airlines have issued travel advisories as dense fog and poor visibility continue to disrupt flight operations across northern and eastern India. IndiGo, Air India, and SpiceJet have warned of possible delays, diversions, and cancellations, particularly during early morning hours over the next few days.

Passengers have been urged to check flight status regularly before heading to airports.

IndiGo Alerts on Early-Morning Disruptions
IndiGo said low visibility due to fog is likely to affect Delhi and other northern airports, with Bengaluru and Amritsar already reporting schedule impacts. The airline advised travellers to allow extra time to reach airports and reassured that ground staff are available to assist with delays or rescheduling.

Air India Flags Persistent Fog
Air India cautioned that dense fog may continue across northern and eastern regions, potentially affecting flights despite measures to minimise inconvenience. Passengers are advised to stay in touch with the airline for updates, with ground teams ready to support alternative arrangements.

SpiceJet Issues Multi-City Advisory
SpiceJet warned that poor visibility could affect operations at multiple airports, including Delhi, Bengaluru, Ayodhya, Gorakhpur, Varanasi, Darbhanga, Jammu, Amritsar, Patna, and Bagdogra. The airline encouraged travellers to monitor flight status closely for changes in departures, arrivals, or connecting flights.

Passengers Advised to Plan Ahead
With winter fog increasing in frequency, airlines recommend early airport arrivals and flexible travel plans. Weather conditions may change quickly, causing unavoidable flight disruptions until visibility improves. Airlines will continue to monitor conditions and issue updates as needed.
