LPG cylinder prices hiked in India amid West Asia conflict; check latest rates in Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata
Domestic LPG prices were increased by ₹60 and commercial cylinder rates by ₹114.5 from Saturday (March 7), as global energy costs continue to surge amid the ongoing conflict in West Asia.
The revision marks the second hike in less than a year. Industry officials told Press Trust of India (PTI) that the increase follows a sharp rise in global energy prices since the military conflict involving the United States and Israel against Iran intensified in West Asia.
LPG gas price hike: New rates in major cities
Following the latest revision, non-subsidised LPG used by regular household consumers—excluding beneficiaries of the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana—will now cost ₹913 for a 14.2 kg cylinder in Delhi. The price earlier stood at ₹853, according to the website of Indian Oil Corporation.
This is the second increase in about 11 months. The previous hike came in April last year, when prices were raised by ₹50.
Rates vary across states depending on local sales tax or Value Added Tax (VAT). Here are the revised prices for a 14.2 kg LPG cylinder in major metro cities:
