Mary Millben Says US-India Relations on ‘Better Pathway,’ Urges Diplomatic Reset

American singer and longtime White House associate Mary Millben expressed optimism about US-India relations, saying they are now on a “better pathway” amid diplomatic efforts led by Secretary of State Marco Rubio.

“Honesty is the best diplomacy. Both leaders—President Trump and Prime Minister Modi—know that I tell the truth,” Millben wrote on X, adding that she was encouraged to see Rubio “leading the conversations forward with the PM’s team to find reconciliation and a deal to bring our countries back to a healthy position.”

Millben previously criticized the Trump administration’s approach toward India, praising Modi’s handling of tensions and urging Washington to pivot to a policy grounded in respect and alliance. She said, “True friendship always admits wrongdoing or, in this case, wrong approach,” noting that many Americans disapprove of hostile rhetoric toward India.

Reflecting on her two decades of engagement with the American presidency, Millben highlighted her work with five US administrations and international leaders, including Modi, Xi Jinping, and Vladimir Putin. She described Modi as “the most revered world leader in geopolitics,” praising his strategic diplomacy, measured responses, and efforts to diversify India’s global partnerships amid US pressure.

In a direct appeal to President Trump, Millben urged a policy reset: “Now is the time to pivot, apologize to the Prime Minister, restore our relationship with India, and reclaim our respected voice in geopolitics. A pivot, Mr. President, is in itself a posture of power and strength.”
