Meghalaya Honeymoon Murder: YouTuber’s Video Shows Last Moments of Sonam and Raja Together.

A newly surfaced video has provided chilling footage of Sonam and Raja Raghuvanshi trekking through a forest trail in Meghalaya, just hours before Raja was allegedly murdered in a plot involving his wife and her lover.

Travel YouTuber Devender Singh, who was visiting the Double Decker Root Bridge in Nongriat village on May 23, inadvertently captured the couple in his vlog. Singh reviewed the footage days later and realized he may have recorded the last known video of the Indore-based couple.

“It was around 9:45 am when we were heading down the trail. The couple was coming up after spending the night in Nongriat,” Singh shared. “Sonam was wearing the same white shirt that police later found near Raja’s body.”

In the clip, Sonam is seen walking ahead, carrying a plastic bag, possibly containing a raincoat, while Raja follows a few steps behind. “Raja looked completely normal—unaware of what was about to happen to him,” Singh said. He added that the footage might assist Meghalaya Police in piecing together the timeline.

According to investigators, Raja and Sonam checked out of their homestay between 5:30 and 6:00 am on May 23 to begin their trek. Raja was allegedly killed later that day, his body discovered days later at the bottom of a 1,000-foot-deep gorge.

The couple had married in Indore on May 11 and reached Meghalaya for their honeymoon on May 21. They were reported missing from Cherrapunji (Sohra) on May 23. Raja’s body was recovered on June 2.

On June 9, Sonam was arrested from Ghazipur, Uttar Pradesh. During questioning, she confessed to plotting the murder with her boyfriend Raj Kushwaha. Three accomplices—Vishal Chauhan, Anand Kurmi, and Akash Rajput—were also arrested by Indore Police.
