Mohanlal Thanks PM Modi After Winning Dadasaheb Phalke Award, Shares Heartfelt Note.

New Delhi: Malayalam superstar Mohanlal has been named the recipient of the Dadasaheb Phalke Award 2023, the highest honour in Indian cinema, announced by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting. He will be presented the award at the 71st National Film Awards on September 23, 2025.

Actor Expresses Gratitude

Following the announcement, Mohanlal took to X (formerly Twitter) to share his appreciation:

“Truly humbled to receive the Dadasaheb Phalke Award. This honour is not mine alone; it belongs to every person who has walked alongside me on this journey.”

He added:

“To my family, audience, colleagues, friends, and well-wishers, your love, faith, and encouragement have been my greatest strength. I carry this recognition with deep gratitude and a full heart.”

Thanks to Prime Minister Narendra Modi

Prime Minister Narendra Modi also congratulated the actor on X. Replying to him, Mohanlal wrote:

“I am deeply humbled and profoundly honored to receive the Dadasaheb Phalke Award. My heartfelt gratitude to Hon’ble Prime Minister Narendra Modi Ji for your kind words and blessings. They fill me with encouragement and joy. I remain ever indebted to the art of cinema and to all whose inspiration and support illuminate my journey.”

Celebrating a Legendary Career

The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting highlighted Mohanlal’s journey on X:

“On the recommendation of the Dadasaheb Phalke Award Selection Committee, the Government of India is pleased to announce that Shri Mohanlal will be conferred the prestigious Dadasaheb Phalke Award 2023. Mohanlal’s remarkable cinematic journey inspires generations! His unmatched talent, versatility, and relentless hard work have set a golden standard in Indian film history.”

Mohanlal began acting at 18, with his first film Thiranottam (1978) releasing only in 2005. His official debut came with Manjil Virinja Pookkal (1980). Over four decades, he has acted in over 400 films across Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, and Kannada cinema and has won five National Awards.

Recently, he was seen in Hridayapoorvam, which performed well at the box office. Fans eagerly await his upcoming projects, including Vrusshabha, Drishyam 3, and Patriot.
