Mojtaba Khamenei Urges Muslim Nations To “Recognise The Real Enemy” In Letter

Iran’s Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei has urged Muslim-majority countries across.

The region to close ranks against the United States and Israel, calling for greater unity in a message issued six months after the conflict in the Middle East began.

Khamenei, who assumed Iran’s top leadership position after his father, Ali Khamenei, was killed at the outset of the war on February 28, has remained out of public view since his appointment. Iranian authorities have so far not released any video or audio recording of him.

His latest message was issued on Sunday as Shia Muslims observed the birthday of Prophet Mohammed.

Khamenei Calls For Muslim Unity

Khamenei said closer cooperation among Islamic nations was essential to addressing their challenges.

“The solution to the problems of the Islamic nations is unity of words, friendship, and cooperation on the path of goodness,” he said, according to his official website.

He warned that attempts to create divisions within the Muslim world, whether deliberate or otherwise, ultimately serve the interests of what he described as Islam’s adversaries.

He specifically appealed to regional leaders to identify what he called their “real enemy”, understand its objectives and oppose it — a reference to the United States and Israel.

Iran’s Relations With Regional States Strained

During the conflict, Iran launched attacks against US military facilities in several parts of the Middle East, including Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Jordan, Kuwait, Qatar and Bahrain.

The attacks have contributed to heightened tensions between Tehran and several countries in the region.

Khamenei’s message also sought to reinforce unity inside Iran. He urged government officials and ordinary citizens to put aside internal disagreements and prevent divisions from widening.

In another statement issued Friday, he had similarly warned against actions that could weaken social cohesion.

“I firmly declare that doing anything detrimental to social cohesion is prohibited,” he said.

Push To Reduce Dollar Dependence

Khamenei also used his recent statements to outline an economic message for Iran.

He called for a gradual reduction in the country’s reliance on the US dollar while urging authorities to increase domestic production and strengthen economic activity.

Iran’s economy has been under sustained pressure from years of US sanctions, with the situation further aggravated by the conflict and a US naval blockade that has affected livelihoods.

The latest statements therefore combine Khamenei’s call for regional unity against Washington and Israel with an appeal for greater cohesion and economic resilience at home.
