Munmun Dutta Dismisses Exit Rumours from TMKOC: “I’m Still Very Much a Part of the Show.”

Munmun Dutta, best known for her role as Babita Ji in the long-running sitcom Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah, has shut down rumours of her quitting the show. Taking to Instagram, the actress shared a video from the TMKOC set, offering fans a behind-the-scenes glimpse of Iyer’s house and her makeup room.

In the caption, she wrote, “Rumours are always not true 😉😎 #munmundutta #workmodeon #tmkoc,” confirming she’s still actively involved in the show.

Speculation about her exit started circulating when fans noticed Babita Ji’s absence from the ongoing ‘Bhootni’ track, where other key characters were seen vacationing in a haunted bungalow. Her noticeable absence led many to believe she may be leaving the series.

However, the show’s production house later clarified to ABP News that Munmun Dutta continues to be part of the cast.

Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah has been on air for 17 years and remains one of Indian television’s most beloved sitcoms. Over the years, several prominent actors like Disha Vakani, Bhavya Gandhi, Raj Anadkat, and Gurucharan Singh have exited the show for various reasons.

Creator Asit Modi addressed these departures in an earlier interview with SCREEN, saying, “I’ve always prioritized the show and stayed in touch with the actors. If anyone has issues, they’re free to talk to me. Allegations do hurt, but they’re part of life.”

For now, Munmun Dutta fans can rest easy—Babita Ji isn’t going anywhere.
