Netanyahu Declares Iran’s Nuclear Facilities ‘Destroyed’ in Joint US-Israel Strikes.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Sunday declared that his longstanding promise to dismantle Iran’s nuclear infrastructure had been fulfilled, following a series of coordinated airstrikes carried out by the United States and Israel.
In a video address shared on social media, Netanyahu confirmed the strikes targeted Iran’s key nuclear sites at Fordo, Natanz, and Isfahan, calling the moment a “historic turning point” for the region.
“From the beginning of this operation, I promised you that Iran’s nuclear facilities would be destroyed, one way or another. This promise has been fulfilled,” Netanyahu said.
He credited the operation’s success to “perfect coordination” between Israeli forces and the US military and offered glowing praise for former US President Donald Trump, who ordered the American component of the attack.
“A short while ago, in perfect coordination between me and President Trump… the United States attacked Iran’s three nuclear facilities,” Netanyahu stated. “President Trump’s bold decision… with the awesome and righteous might of the United States, will change history.”
Netanyahu went on to say that the strike could pave the way toward regional stability, echoing a shared mantra between the two leaders:
“President Trump and I often say, peace through strength. First comes strength, then comes peace.”
A Joint Assault on Iran’s Nuclear Infrastructure
The Israeli military launched its first wave of airstrikes on June 13, stating that intelligence indicated Iran was nearing the capability to produce a nuclear weapon—an accusation Iran continues to deny.
Following days of deliberation, the US joined the offensive, with Trump announcing strikes on Fordo, Natanz, and Isfahan via his social media platform. The joint attack marks a major escalation in the conflict between Israel and Iran, who have exchanged multiple rounds of retaliatory strikes in recent days.
In a follow-up statement, Netanyahu reaffirmed that the mission was a joint operation and reiterated that the destruction of Iran’s nuclear facilities had been the central objective.
While both Israeli and US officials hailed the operation as a strategic and symbolic victory, the long-term geopolitical consequences of the strike remain uncertain, with heightened tensions across the Middle East and rising international concern.
