‘Nikah Near Al-Falah’: Muzammil Calls Shaheen His Wife, Not Girlfriend.

In a new development in the Delhi car blast investigation, accused Muzammil Ahmad Ganaie has told authorities that co-accused Dr. Shaheen Shahid is his wife, not his girlfriend. He claimed the couple was formally married in September 2023 at a mosque near Al-Falah University, with a mehr of ₹5,000–6,000 under Sharia law. Investigators believe this may explain Shaheen’s alleged financial support to the terror module.

The National Investigation Agency (NIA), probing the November 10 blast, has made its seventh arrest—Soyab from Faridabad—for allegedly harboring bomber Umar Un Nabi and providing logistical help before the attack.

Shaheen is suspected of contributing ₹27–28 lakh to procure weapons and explosives for the group. She reportedly gave Muzammil ₹6.5 lakh in 2023 for weapons and later lent Umar ₹3 lakh in 2024 for the Ford EcoSport used in the attack. During questioning, Shaheen claimed the money was intended as zakat (religious donations) rather than terror funding.

NIA officials are tracing leads across multiple states to identify all individuals linked to the attack. Investigators are also probing terror-related networks in South Kashmir—active since 2016 in Baramulla, Srinagar, Anantnag, and Ganderbal—that allegedly supply weapons to militants under instructions from Pakistan-based handlers. These networks are suspected of supplying the assault weapons used by Muzammil and Umar.
