“OMG 3 in the Works: Director Confirms Progress on Akshay Kumar Starrer”

Amit Rai Confirms Akshay Kumar’s Return in OMG 3, Work Already Underway.

Amit Rai, the director behind OMG 2, has officially confirmed that Akshay Kumar will be back for the third instalment of the popular franchise. Speaking to ANI, Rai said, “Vo to honge” (he will definitely be there), adding that Akshay’s presence is a given since he is also producing the film.

The director revealed that work on OMG 3 is already in progress, promising it will be “bigger” than what audiences have seen before. The film is expected to hit theatres next year.

Rai praised Akshay’s creative involvement in OMG 2, noting that the actor not only performed but also contributed significantly as a producer. “From narrating the script to other actors to improvising scenes, Akshay sir was deeply involved. He even gave suggestions to avoid unnecessary criticism — like advising me to shoot the masturbation scene carefully and decide later,” Rai shared.

The OMG series began with the 2012 hit Oh My God!, starring Akshay Kumar and Paresh Rawal. In OMG 2, Akshay played a messenger of Lord Shiva, guiding Pankaj Tripathi’s character through a legal battle on sex education.

Meanwhile, Rai also confirmed that Shahid Kapoor’s much-anticipated Chhatrapati Shivaji biopic has been shelved, expressing frustration over the film industry’s rigid systems that, he says, make it hard for directors to work despite proven success.

Akshay Kumar, on the other hand, is keeping busy. The teaser of Jolly LLB 3, featuring him alongside Arshad Warsi and Saurabh Shukla, dropped today, promising another round of witty courtroom drama. The teaser showcases the two “Jollys” facing off in court, with Judge Tripathi (Saurabh Shukla) once again caught in the middle.
