NIA Arrests Two for Sheltering Terrorists Behind Pahalgam Attack that Killed 26.

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has arrested two individuals for allegedly harbouring terrorists involved in the April 22 terror attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, which claimed 26 lives. The arrests were confirmed by NIA officials on Sunday, as reported by PTI.

In addition to the arrests, the NIA has also questioned several survivors and relatives of those killed in the attack. An official said the agency had gathered “vital leads” during the probe and that senior officers were actively investigating multiple angles linked to the incident.

The Resistance Front (TRF), a shadow outfit of Pakistan-based Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), had claimed responsibility for the deadly ambush.

The arrests follow a series of raids conducted by the NIA in early June across 32 locations in Kashmir, including Shopian, Kulgam, Pulwama, Sopore, and Kupwara. The crackdown targeted suspected overground workers with alleged ties to Pakistan-backed terror groups.

Though the raids were not officially linked to the Pahalgam attack, they were part of an ongoing investigation into the operations of banned terror organisations and their affiliates in the region, tied to a case registered two years ago.

The NIA continues to intensify efforts against terror networks operating in Jammu and Kashmir, with further arrests and revelations expected as the probe progresses.
