PM Modi to Launch India’s Largest Cruise Terminal, Over Rs 34,200 Crore Projects in Gujarat.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will arrive in Bhavnagar, Gujarat, on Saturday to inaugurate a slew of transformative development projects under the ‘Samudra se Samriddhi’ programme. The initiatives, spanning multiple sectors, are collectively valued at over Rs 34,200 crore.
A key highlight is the maritime sector, with projects worth more than Rs 7,870 crore. PM Modi will inaugurate the Mumbai International Cruise Terminal at Indira Dock and lay the foundation stone for a new container terminal at Kolkata’s Syama Prasad Mookerjee Port. Additional maritime developments include a cargo berth and container facilities at Paradip Port, the Tuna Tekra Multi-Cargo Terminal in Gujarat, and modernization of Kamarajar Port (Ennore), Chennai Port, Car Nicobar Island, and Deendayal Port (Kandla). Inland waterway facilities at Patna and Varanasi will also be upgraded.
In Gujarat, the Prime Minister will unveil projects worth Rs 26,354 crore across sectors such as renewable energy, healthcare, urban transport, and port infrastructure. Key initiatives include the HPLNG Regasification Terminal at Chhara Port, the Acrylics and Oxo Alcohol Project at Gujarat IOCL Refinery, the 600 MW Green Shoe Initiative, the 475 MW PM-KUSUM solar feeder, the Badeli 45 MW Solar PV Project, and solarisation of Dhordo village.
In healthcare and urban infrastructure, foundation stones will be laid for expansions at Sir T. General Hospital in Bhavnagar and Guru Govind Sinh Government Hospital in Jamnagar. The Prime Minister will also inaugurate the four-laning of 70 kilometers of national highways to boost connectivity and trade.
Several MoUs will be signed to strengthen public-private partnerships, and PM Modi will conduct an aerial survey of the Dholera Special Investment Region, a greenfield industrial city designed around sustainable industrialisation, smart infrastructure, and global investment.
