Prashant Kishor Promises 10,000 Private Jobs for Bankipur Youth in Two Years
Jan Suraaj Party founder Prashant Kishor has promised to help secure private-sector jobs for at least 10,000 young people in his Bankipur assembly constituency over the next two years.
Kishor, who recently won the Bankipur by-election, said he would use his professional network and contacts across the country to create employment opportunities for qualified youngsters.
Addressing a public meeting in Bankipur on Tuesday, Kishor urged unemployed educated youth to submit their CVs at his party office.
“If your children are educated yet unemployed, bring their CVs to our office. We will arrange jobs for at least 10,000 of them within the next two years,” he said, according to PTI.
He added that his “big contacts” and the people he had worked with in the past would help connect young people with jobs in different parts of the country.
Kishor Promises Jobs Beyond Bihar
Kishor said Jan Suraaj would work to create employment opportunities within Bihar if the party comes to power. However, he acknowledged that, for now, young people may have to seek jobs both inside and outside the state.
He also promised improvements in government-school education within a year. Kishor said that if the quality of government schools did not improve enough to attract families, he would take responsibility for helping children get enrolled in private schools and paying their fees.
Kishor Condemns Police Action Against Students
Kishor also criticised police action against students protesting at Delhi’s Jantar Mantar over the alleged paper-leak controversy surrounding NEET-UG 2026.
He said the use of force against protesting students would not silence young people and warned that unresolved issues could fuel growing discontent among the youth.
Bankipur Victory Marks Jan Suraaj’s Assembly Debut
Kishor’s Bankipur victory came after a difficult showing in the 2025 Bihar Assembly election, when Jan Suraaj failed to win a single seat.
He defeated BJP candidate Neeraj Sinha by nearly 20,000 votes in the by-election, breaking the BJP’s decades-long hold over the urban constituency.
The victory gave Jan Suraaj its first seat in the Bihar Legislative Assembly and marked a significant political comeback for Kishor.
