Rakhi Sawant Questions Akanksha Chamola’s Divorce Announcement, Calls It ‘False’

Actor Rakhi Sawant has reacted to Akanksha Chamola’s announcement about her reported divorce from husband Gaurav Khanna, making it clear that she is not convinced by the revelation.

Akanksha surprised viewers during the premiere of Lock Upp Season 2 on Netflix by revealing that she and Gaurav had decided to end their marriage after living separately for the past year. While the announcement sparked widespread discussion online, Rakhi dismissed the claim with a blunt response on social media.

Rakhi Calls Akanksha’s Claim ‘False’

Soon after a clip from the show’s premiere surfaced online, Rakhi commented on the post with a single word: “Jhoothi” (liar), followed by a laughing emoji, indicating that she did not believe Akanksha’s divorce announcement.

Her comment quickly went viral, with fans divided over whether Akanksha’s revelation was genuine or part of the reality show’s promotional campaign.

Akanksha Confirms Separation

During the episode, Akanksha said, “Me and Gaurav are getting a divorce. We have been living separately for the last one year and it’s not been public.”

She added that there was no bitterness between them despite the decision to separate.

“Things are not bad between me and Gaurav. We still talk to each other. We don’t think we are compatible as partners because we both see a very different future. And, unfortunately, it’s not with each other.”

Gaurav Khanna has not publicly responded to Akanksha’s statement. The actor is currently participating in Khatron Ke Khiladi 15.

Akanksha Earlier Dismissed Relationship Rumours

Earlier this year, Akanksha had fuelled speculation after sharing a cryptic post on social media that many interpreted as hinting at trouble in her marriage.

She later clarified that the post had nothing to do with Gaurav and was intended to promote one of her projects.

Speaking to Bombay Times, she said, “The post had nothing to do with Gaurav. I’m not someone who discusses personal matters on social media. It was meant to promote my upcoming series. It was open to interpretation, but it was blown out of proportion.”

Akanksha and Gaurav, who reportedly met during an audition, got married in 2016 after dating for several years. While Akanksha has now publicly confirmed their separation, Gaurav is yet to comment on the matter.
