Reliance Industries denies report on Russian oil deliveries to Jamnagar refinery.

Reliance Industries Limited (RIL) on Tuesday refuted a media report claiming that Russian crude had been delivered to its Jamnagar refinery in the past few weeks. In a statement shared on social media, the company said, “A news report in Bloomberg claiming ‘three vessels laden with Russian oil are heading for Reliance Industries Limited’s Jamnagar refinery’ is blatantly untrue.”

RIL clarified that no recent shipments of Russian crude have reached the refinery and that none are expected in January. “Reliance Industries’ Jamnagar refinery has not received any Russian oil in the past three weeks approximately, and is not expecting any deliveries in January,” the statement added.

The company also expressed disappointment over the publication of the report despite its denial, saying, “We are deeply pained that those claiming to be at the forefront of fair journalism chose to ignore RIL’s denial and published a wrong report tarnishing our image.”

The Jamnagar refinery in Gujarat, the world’s largest oil refining complex, plays a key role in India’s fuel supply and exports. Any reports related to its crude sourcing often attract global attention, especially amid scrutiny of Russian oil trade.
